Hello TPC Family and Friends,
Did you know that October was originally the eighth month in the Roman calendar, named from the Latin word "octo," meaning eight? It became the tenth month after January and February were added. Today, October is rich with transitions and awareness. As leaves change color and the air gets cooler, we're reminded of the beauty and transformation this season brings.
October is packed with awareness themes such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Bullying Prevention. It shines a light on mental health with World Mental Health Day on October 10th and Mental Illness Awareness Week during the first week.
In the heart of these important themes, October is also Pastor's Appreciation Month, while also marking the "Day of Reformation." There's a complex relationship between these observances: Pastor's Appreciation Month honors pastoral roles, while the Reformation emphasized the priesthood of all believers, challenging the clergy-laity hierarchy.
As servants of the Lord, our focus this month is "Reformation with Glorious Expectation." Let us reflect on the glorious transformations within and around us. Just as October transitioned from the eighth to the tenth month, we too are called to renew our hearts and anticipate profound changes in our spiritual lives. This season encourages us to be societies seeking the Creator, hearts honoring the Spirit, and lives living in the light, as we remain steadfast in our witness to Christ's glorious return. Let this time remind us of the perpetual beauty in change and expectation. May our journey this season be filled with transformation and hope, as we prepare our hearts for the blessings ahead.
In Christ,
Pastor Daniel & Lady Notoya Bangura

Reformation with Glorious Expectation
As October ushers in transformation, we spotlight Sam Gweh, whose journey reflects deep-rooted reformation. Sam has been part of the Turning Point Church (TPC) family for over two decades, currently serving as Chair of the Finance and on the Leadership Team. Raised by parents devoted to ministry, he learned early the values of commitment and service. Though he wandered in his youth, the seeds sown by his parents flourished, guiding him back to faith.
Sam's story mirrors the promise of Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go." Despite life's turns, Sam steadfastly serves in the house of God, embodying the principle that "to whom much is given, much is required."
Community support helps us navigate life's challenges. Always be ready for new opportunities, relying on spiritual growth and readiness to act when called. Life is full of potential; our key is to embrace it with faith and unity.
