Hello TPC Family and Friends,
As we step into June, our church family continues to press into our 2026 overarching vision, "Walking Worthy of the Upward Calling." This month, we pivot our hearts toward a powerful new focus: "Living the Legacy of the Upward Call." This thematic series challenges us to move away from exhausting self-reliance and instead step boldly into the supernatural empowerment and kingdom purpose that Christ has already established for us.
Our collective mission over the next four weeks is to anchor our identities in the secure, high calling of God. We find our biblical footing in Romans 8:31, which triumphantly declares, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Walking in this truth requires deep consecration, an intentional shift where we stop struggling in our own human effort and begin resting completely in His finished work.
We see this beautifully modeled in the life of Sister Magarette, a dedicated pillar within our intercessory prayer ministry. Though she navigates a demanding physical condition daily, Magarette radiates an unshakeable inner strength forged through constant praise and intimate conversations with God. Her life stands as an inspiring blueprint of divine dependency, showing our entire house what it looks like to thrive exclusively on the Lord’s grace.
Throughout June, our preaching series will provide a practical roadmap for laying down our self-sufficiency to fully rely on God's sovereignty. Our weekly milestones—Guarding the Spiritual Baseline, Affirming a Servant-Leader's Surrender, Honoring Our Trailblazers, and Passing the Burning Torch—seamlessly connect to form a cohesive picture of a life lived on assignment. As we digest these truths together, we will discover how to actively operate in our divine inheritance through His enduring love.
In the Upward Call,

Living the Legacy o f the Upward Call
Sister Magarette’s radiant spirit brings immense energy to Turning Point Church (TPC) this June. She first visited in 2010 under Pastor Neal Walker before officially joining, perfectly championing our sermon focus, "Living the Legacy of the Upward Call." Her life actively demonstrates how to thrive by resting entirely on God’s grace.
Growing up in Haiti, she carried heavy responsibilities early as the oldest of six. Today, Magarette drives momentum in TPC's Intercessory Prayer, Women's, and Finance ministries while welcoming faces on the Greeting Team. Most recently, Pastor Daniel even assigned her to the Security Team—a post that always brings a smile to her face given her daily physical challenges!
In the marketplace, Magarette takes charge as a sharp, self-employed professional. She pursues business with passion and pours herself into a lifelong love for music. She also treasures her two grown adult children and three wonderful grandchildren.
Claiming Romans 8:31, Magarette stands as a living blueprint of active faith, proving that physical boundaries cannot block God's purpose.
Guarding Your Spiritual Baseline
Our church family enters June with our hearts completely focused on "Living the Legacy of the Upward Call," a theme that changes how we live out our faith every day. Instead of chasing future goals, we are stepping into a spiritual history that is real and ready for us right now, built entirely on the example of Jesus Christ. This high calling gives us clear direction and shows the amazing change that happens when we actively guard our spiritual baseline.
This legacy shows up in a real way through the hard work of faithful believers like Sister Magarette. Her story at Turning Point Church sends a powerful message of commitment. Her life proves that real leadership comes from relying on Christ rather than our own physical strength. At TPC, Magarette helps build the warm, supportive family that God promises to everyone. This calling helps us rise above personal struggles, giving Magarette the strength she pours into her ministries, her business, and her family.
Living out this wonderful legacy means we must guide our steps using the wisdom found in Colossians 2:6–7: "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith." Following this truth brings victory to every generation, starting with keeping our hearts firmly close to Jesus.
