Spotlight on Edwina Saidu

Welcome to TP Concept!

On September 1, 2025, we proudly launched TP Concept, a blog dedicated to enriching spiritual growth and fostering community engagement at Turning Point Church. Led by my wife, Lady Bangura, and me, we will explore biblical insights, key faith-based topics, practical applications for everyday life, event highlights, powerful testimonies, and much more from our community. We are excited to feature Edwina Saidu as our December Spotlight candidate. Here's her inspiring story.
Hi, my name is Edwina Saidu. I'm a fifth grader at Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School, where I go with my little sister, Reggina. I was raised in a Christian home by my parents, Edward and Sadiatu Saidu. My family and I joined Turning Point Church (TPC) about a year ago. TPC feels like having a second family.

At TPC, I'm part of Kids Zone, where I've made awesome new friends who I look forward to seeing at Sunday school. I'm also in the Dance and Banner Ministry, led by Lady Notoya Bangura. I'm super excited about our Christmas program, where I'll share my love for God through dance. I've learned that Christmas is about Jesus, the true light of the world, not about gifts and Santa.

Dancing in our church's Christmas play is like sharing a piece of my heart. I've also read the scriptures on Sundays before Pastor Daniel Bangura preaches. I love doing this because it makes people happy and helps them feel closer to God.

Going to church with my family has brought me closer to God and taught me how to pray. My family is my rock, teaching me to walk in faith. We have a "family choir," singing gospel songs while my dad plays the keyboard. These moments fill our home with joy and make me feel closer to God.

Outside church, I enjoy drawing, reading, and listening to music. I also look forward to watching movies after homework, completing house chores and hanging out with my cousin Samuela. We sometimes get in trouble for playing too much, especially when I'm on Roblox, my favorite game. I also love African food like potato leaves, jollof rice, and sweet sauce.

To anyone my age: you're never too young to let your light shine! Remember John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." Share that love with the world!

Insight

Edwina Saidu's story is a great example of how a church community can bring hope, peace, joy, and love to others. Her dance and scripture readings at Turning Point Church have helped her grow closer to God. Edwina's family helped her learn to pray and trust in God. Her life shows the joy Jesus brings through music and togetherness. Let's learn from Edwina and remember, no matter how old we are, we can let our light shine bright and make a difference through faith and love. This Christmas, we hope you share the light of Christ to everyone because He is the real reason for the season.
