Spotlight on Magarette

Welcome to TP Concept!

On September 1, 2025, we proudly launched TP Concept, a blog dedicated to enriching spiritual growth and fostering community engagement at Turning Point Church. Led by my wife, Lady Bangura, and me, we will explore biblical insights, key faith-based topics, practical applications for everyday life, event highlights, powerful testimonies, and much more from our community. We are excited to feature Magarette Seraphin as our month of June Spotlight candidate. Here's her inspiring story.
Hi everyone! I am Sister Magarette Seraphin, born in the beautiful country of Haiti. As the firstborn child in a family of six, I grew up with heavy responsibilities on my shoulders, which continue to this day. Many people in my life count on me to suggest great ideas or to step up in helping others. In a body with physical limits, that takes patience! I became a member of TPC around 2010 under the leadership of Pastor Walker.

I am an active part of our Women's, Finance, Intercessory Prayer, and Greeters' ministries. Most recently, Pastor Daniel Bangura even assigned me a new post on our security team, which definitely left a smile on my face!

Years ago, I gave my life to Christ and was baptized by the late Pastor White, trying to live a decent life according to the Bible. It changed my path because, even though I used to be a "party girl," I never drank alcohol. In this ever-changing journey, my physical condition is a daily challenge that hurts me deeply, especially when I watch my brothers and sisters working hard and I cannot physically help them. But with much faith and prayer, I never let that stop me from contributing my ideas and suggestions to God's work.

I am self-employed in the marketplace, running my own business and focusing on my love for music. In this daily walk, as long as I have my Savior—my ultimate source of strength—I am truly blessed! I love listening to music to relax and unwind. I prioritize my life with praise for small favors, alongside my two grown adult children and three wonderful grandchildren who provide so much love.

I was originally invited to this house by my longtime friend, Deaconess Valerie! I love learning and sharing new ideas. I love the company of our church family, and my new goal is to keep lifting each other up in our daily prayers!
Turning Point means the world to me. I feel deeply connected with the brothers and sisters as we pray for one another. Pastor Daniel is an astonishing teacher of faith, compassion, and joy! One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:31: "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

If I were to give a message, it would be to praise Him at all times, even when you are not exactly where you are supposed to be.

Insight

Magarette’s story is one of grace-driven dedication and relying on God during tough times. Even with her daily physical limits, she trusts in God's strength and grace. Her life at Turning Point Church and her active business show how she finds purpose and commitment through God, much like Colossians 2:6–7 teaches that true strength comes from being rooted in Him. She accepts her physical challenges and lets Christ's power help her, showing that guarding our spiritual baseline brings enduring faith. Her journey reminds us to trust God's plans and praise Him at all times, knowing that our steps are His and He gives us the strength to serve.
