Spotlight on Trinity Asante

Welcome to TP Concept!

Hey everyone! I’m Trinity Lanaé Asante, born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with roots tracing back to Ghana and the Turks and Caicos. I’m 16 years old, the fourth of six kids, and a junior at Bowie High School. Turning Point Church has been my home for as long as I can remember—I was dedicated here as a baby and got baptized by Pastor Daniel Bangura on April 12th, 2026. These days, you can find me serving as a helper in Children’s Church and worshipping with the Dance & Banner Ministry under Lady Bangura.
My faith journey has been a really personal experience, deeply tied to my family and my church community. Growing up, I always felt that everything I do is a reflection of my background and what I stand for. A major turning point happened when I spent hours in deep prayer, just laying everything out to God and asking for guidance. That moment was a real awakening for me—it anchored my life in Jesus and inspired me to actually live out His Word every day. Taking that step at 15 to get baptized was my way of publicly showing my love for Him.

Once I made that decision, I knew I didn't want to just sit on the sidelines; I wanted to get active in my faith. I wanted my life to be grounded in God, and I knew that building that kind of foundation takes an encouraging church family to cheer you on. That desire to jump in and serve really took off once I started volunteering at TPC.

I bring that same energy into my school life and daily routine. I’m super active at Bowie High—I’m on the ASA Modeling Team, the Caribbean Student Association, and the Debate Team, which has been awesome for building confidence, public speaking, and critical thinking skills. I’m definitely not aiming for a passive lifestyle; I want to share God's love, encourage people around me, and prep for the future—I'm currently looking into early college applications to study law at NYU with a minor in Graphic Design and Arts—all while staying grounded through the guidance of TPC.

What really drives my heart for TPC is the chance to be a co-laborer and put my faith into motion alongside amazing people. One of my favorite things is mentoring the younger kids in Children’s Church and serving in ministry, showing them God’s love in a real way. I’ve learned firsthand that family isn't just about blood—it’s about a community that genuinely backs you up and lifts you higher.

My world is a mix of creative arts, debate, graphic design, and sports like basketball and volleyball. Outside of church, I love repping my culture, making art, and hanging out with my friends and team. The Scripture that keeps me centered is 1 Corinthians 10:13: “God will not put on me beyond what I can bear. They remind me that God always makes a way through tough times and that He invites us to be co-workers in His field. To me, Turning Point Church isn't just a place to go on Sundays—it’s a family where I get to co-labor, grow, and truly belong.

Insight

Trinity's story is one of purposeful cultivation and stepping onto the field as a faithful co-laborer. Her willingness to embrace her faith at a young age, mentor others, and serve across multiple ministries reminds us that spiritual growth begins with a prepared heart and flourishes through active service. Anchored by 1 Corinthians 3:9, her testimony reflects the truth that we are co-workers in God’s service, called to build up His kingdom together. Like Trinity, may we continue growing on purpose, trusting that every intentional act of service contributes to an abundant, eternal harvest.
